In the first part of the course we will cover a number of topics of current relevance to the field, including some categories as: socialization, social role and norms, social inclusion/exclusion, deviance. Then we will discuss some sociological theories as symbolic interactionism, ethnography, ethnomethodology. In the second part of the course, we will concentrate on Goffman sociology and its analysis of social interactions with fringe people. Some Goffman essays will be discussed in classroom.
