Learning Objectives
The course pursues the following educational objectives:
- ability to acquire the 'sense' of the profession of social worker and his position in the current welfare system
-comprehension of the relevance of ethical and deontological questions in professional practices with particular reference to ethical dilemmas
- development of a "complex" thinking with respect to the social phenomena object of the social service activity, a basic requirement for the assumption of the professional perspective;
- ability to analyze the life stories of individual individuals so as to identify the social disadvantage often at the base of marginalization processes and coping strategies;
-development of skills to analyze the initial phases of the help process
- ability to understand the most important elements of the methodological question in the profession of social worker

Type of Assessment
First written test: questions on the topics covered in the second module.
Second written test: questions on the topics covered in the first and third module.
The written tests will be valid for the current academic year.
Oral exam on the topics of the first, second and third module: it will be supported only by those who pass the written tests. The oral exam of the second module includes also the analysis of a life story and the construction of the biogram
