Learning Objectives
Knowledge and understanding.
The course aims to provide: a) specific knowledge about theoretical models applied to the study of social groups and communities; b) methodological aspects of research in social psychology; instruments for groups and community development
Applying knowledge and understanding.
Capability to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to analyze social phenomena through a psychosocial perspective. Capability in communication, critical thinking and capability in making judgments.

Teaching Methods
Classes, seminars (optional), and meetings with experts working in the field of Social Psychology.
Type of Assessment
Written and oral examination. The exams are graded according to a scale ranging from 0 to 30, with 18 as the lowest passing mark.
The exam has the aim to evaluate knowledge and understanding. The written exam is composed by open-ended questions and it is performed without books or notes.
During the oral examination the content of the written text will be discussed.

Groups and communities’ relations, psychosocial dysfunction of groups, action research, social capital, community development, empowerment and active citizenship.
