Course Content
The course is an introduction to the specific disciplinary perspective of sociology applied to the study of political phenomena; it makes use both of classics’ definitions and of concepts by contemporary theorists in order to take into account the results of modern empirical research.
Each of these three aspects is examined through reference to the basic themes such as power, community, élite, citizenship, movement, regulation, etc, so that the debate is preserved in its articulation.

Each of these three aspects is examined in the first module through reference to the basic themes such as power, community, élite, citizenship, movement, regulation, etc, so that the debate is preserved in its articulation.
The second module is devoted to political processes and political cultures: among the main themes: political socialization, the emergence of political elites, political generations political identity and political cultures.
